Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of crew qualifications, ship readiness, and port supervision on shipping safety at Tanjung Emas Port. The background of this study is based on the importance of crew competence, ship readiness, and effective supervision in supporting shipping safety and reducing the risk of maritime accidents. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The research variables consist of crew qualifications, ship readiness, port supervision, and shipping safety. Data analysis was conducted using statistical analysis to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on shipping safety. The results show that crew qualifications, ship readiness, and port supervision affect shipping safety at Tanjung Emas Port. Shipping safety can be improved through competent crew members, proper ship readiness and seaworthiness, and effective and continuous port supervision. This study is expected to provide input for shipping companies, ship crews, and port authorities in improving human resource competence, ship readiness, and supervision effectiveness to achieve optimal shipping safety.
