Developing Innovative Nature-Based Tourism Products through Ecotourism: A Model from Egon Buluk Tourism Village, Indonesia
Abstract
Egon Buluk Tourism Village possesses diverse natural tourism resources, including natural hot springs, waterfalls, cold-water springs, Mount Egon trekking and hiking trails, agrotourism attractions, and natural caves. This study aims to identify these resources, analyse development opportunities and challenges, and formulate an ecotourism-based nature tourism product innovation model. Using a qualitative case study approach, the findings indicate that these resources have strong potential to be developed into tourism products centred on visitor experiences, education, conservation, and community empowerment. However, destination development continues to face challenges related to infrastructure, accessibility, visitor safety, human resource capacity, institutional capacity, and environmental management. The study proposes an ecotourism-based tourism product innovation model that integrates diverse tourism resources into a comprehensive tourism experience system to enhance destination competitiveness, environmental sustainability, and local community well-being.
