Increasing Awareness Of Formal Education Through Interactive Socialization At The At-Tahkimis-Sorih Nwdi Permatan Islamic Boarding School

Abstract

Formal education is a crucial factor in enhancing the quality of human resources and shaping the character, knowledge, and skills of students. However, awareness regarding the importance of formal education still needs to be raised, particularly within the environment of Islamic boarding schools (*pondok pesantren*). Consequently, students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Hamzanwadi University conducted an interactive outreach session at the At-Tahkimis-Sorih NWDI Permatan Islamic Boarding School to increase student awareness of the importance of formal education. The activity aimed to provide an understanding of the benefits of formal education, the importance of pursuing higher education, and future educational and career opportunities. A descriptive method was employed, with data collected through observation, documentation, and direct participation during the event. The activity comprised several stages: preparation, material presentation, interactive discussion, a question-and-answer session, and the awarding of appreciation to active participants. The results indicated a positive response from the participants, characterized by high enthusiasm, active engagement in discussions, and the confidence to ask questions and express opinions regarding the importance of formal education. The activity also provided students with additional insights and motivation to pursue further education as a foundation for achieving their aspirations. Thus, the interactive outreach conducted by the Hamzanwadi University KKN students serves as an educational initiative that supports raising student awareness about the importance of formal education within the Islamic boarding school setting.
