Abstract

Remote sensing technology in post-disaster environmental damage assessment has become an essential focus for more efficient recovery planning. This research aims to identify the role of remote sensing technology in assessing environmental damage and supporting the recovery process in a faster and more precise way. This research was conducted through a literature study approach by exploring the basic concepts of remote sensing sourced from various scientific journals. The results show that remote sensing has a vital role in assessing damage, with its ability to collect data in real-time and cover large areas. This makes it easier to identify damage in various locations affected by the disaster. Although this technology faces several challenges, such as limited image resolution, limited data frequency, and interference due to erratic weather conditions, remote sensing has proven effective in accelerating post-disaster recovery. With the support of good coordination between relevant agencies, this technology can make a significant contribution to accelerating and facilitating the post-disaster recovery process.
