Integration Of Cultural Ecoliteracy In The Sociology Curriculum In High School
Abstract
This study aims to analyze: 1) The forms of cultural literacy integration in the Sociology curriculum at senior high schools, 2) Catalysts for integration and structural constraints in the integration process. The researchers employed a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was assessed through data triangulation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The sample consisted of sixteen informants, namely: 1) High school Sociology teachers actively designing and implementing instruction. 2) School Principals or Vice Principals in charge of the curriculum. 3) High school students enrolled in Sociology courses. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the integration of cultural eco-literacy into Sociology instruction has been implemented through various forms, namely the use of local learning resources, project-based learning, and the involvement of the local community. 2) Supporting factors in the cultural eco-literacy integration process identified include school policies that provide teachers with the freedom to innovate in teaching, an environment rich in local cultural learning resources, local community involvement, and the motivation of teachers and students. Barriers to integration include limited teaching materials and the absence of specific policies governing the implementation of integration.
