Abstract

This study examines the influence of teachers’ teaching skills on students’ learning interest in Islamic Education subjects. Learning interest is a crucial determinant of students’ academic success, yet many students demonstrate low engagement in classroom activities. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression design. The population consists of 36 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers’ teaching skills significantly influence students’ learning interest, contributing 78.5% to the variance. This suggests that effective teaching practices, including instructional variation, clarity in explanation, and interactive communication, are essential in fostering student engagement. The study concludes that improving pedagogical competence is a key strategy in enhancing learning outcomes in Islamic Education.
