The Effect of Principal Supervision and Technology Use on The Performance of Junior High School Teachers with School Culture as Mediation
Abstract
Through the learning process in schools, education plays a crucial and strategic role in creating quality human resources. This study aims to analyze the influence of the implementation of principal supervision and the use of technology on the performance of junior high school teachers in East Tanjungpinang District with school culture as a mediating variable. This study employs an ex-post facto quantitative methodology. Likert scale questionnaires were used to gather research data. 118 junior high school teachers from the East Tanjungpinang District made up the research sample. The Sobel test was employed to determine the significance of the mediation effect, and multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis were employed to examine the direct and indirect influence of factors. The findings demonstrated that principal supervision had an indirect impact on school culture rather than a direct one on teacher performance. The results of the Sobel test showed a Z value of 4.55 (>1.96) which means that school culture strongly and significantly mediates the relationship between the implementation of principal supervision and teacher performance. The use of technology was also proven to have a positive effect on school culture and teacher performance, and showed a significant indirect effect through school culture with a Z value of 4.16 (>1.96). This finding confirms that school culture is able to mediate the influence of the implementation of principal supervision and the use of technology on teacher performance.
