Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the cooperative learning model of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type based on Palembang local culture on students’ learning outcomes in the Pancasila subject for fifth-grade students at SDN 209 Palembang. The background of this study is based on the low level of students’ active participation in the learning process and the less optimal use of local culture as a contextual learning resource. The TPS learning model based on Palembang local culture was implemented to enhance students’ activeness, cooperation, and understanding of Pancasila values. Data for this study were collected through student questionnaire sheets. The results of the data analysis were based on the validation of test items integrated with Palembang local culture.
