The Effect of Geogebra-Assisted Problem Solving on Mathematical Thinking Ability Reviewed from Self Efficacy
Abstract
Mathematical thinking is the ability to identify real-world phenomena in order to provide practical solutions to the problems under study. Previous research has aimed to analyze students’ mathematical thinking abilities in relation to their levels of self-efficacy. This study aims to investigate the impact of the Geogebra-assisted Problem Solving (PS) Learning Model on the mathematical thinking skills of elementary school students. An experimental method with a posttest-only control group design was used, employing Cluster Random Sampling to select a sample of 100 students. The research instrument consisted of a mathematical thinking ability test, which was analyzed using a two-way ANOVA with Jamovi software. The ANOVA results showed a significant difference in mathematical thinking ability between the experimental group and the control group. The findings indicate that the Geogebra-assisted Problem Solving model significantly improves the mathematical thinking ability of elementary school students, proving to be more effective than the expository model.
